It all started back on Hinge (a dating website) at the very beginning of 2021 and now here we are getting ready to tie the knot! We are so excited to be celebrating our big day with you all.
A bit about us
Jan is from Hamburg, Germany and he is one of 5 siblings (Julia, Jörn, Jens and Jutta). His parents Hans-Werner and Renate as well as Julia and Jutta still live there and Jörn and Jens live in other parts of Germany. He has 6 nieces and nephews who he adores. Jan moved to Australia in 2011 and currently works for TikTok - and does landscape photography on the side.
Charlotte is from West Sussex in the South East of England where her parents, Diana and Julian still live. She has one sister called Alicia who lives in Wiltshire with her wife Sarah and their children Rupert, Xanthe and Atticus. Charlotte moved to Australia with her career in finance in 2014 and has since transitioned to her own business as a nutritionist which has all been inspired by her own health journey with an autoimmune condition.
About the wedding location
Our wedding is taking place in West Sussex in the South East of England with the Church Service in the village of Easebourne (just outside Midhurst and not to be mistaken with Eastbourne in East Sussex) with the wedding reception at Grittenham Barn which is located between Easebourne and Petworth.
This is a very special area for Charlotte as she moved to this area when she was 1 and Charlotte’s parents still live in the same house, a converted barn, 36 years later. Her grandparents owned the barn before her parents, but sadly Charlotte’s grandfather suddenly died when she was 6 months old so the house was purchased by Charlotte’s parents and her grandmother remained living in the village for the rest of her life. Easebourne Church, St Mary’s has hosted many of Charlotte’s families memorable events such as weddings, christenings and funerals and Charlotte once upon the time sang in the choir! Charlotte also spent time as a young child, strawberry picking at Grittenham Barn, where our reception will be held.
Jan has really enjoyed getting to know the areas too - he calls it medieval! We look forward to showing it all to you!
